Entry #12 Wednesday November 29th, 2006 - 34 Weeks 5 days ![]() Well I expected journal #12 would be whether the baby was a boy or girl and the bodyweight. Nothing yet!! This is well farther then we ever expected to get. The baby is now in VERY good shape. If nothing happens, next Wednesday December 6th, would be the day we've talked about having them take cerclage out. This would happen in the Hospital, but that's a big IF. The ultrasound measurment has the baby at 35 weeks 1 day. I am still not counting that date, I guess I am one of the only ones. Entry #11 Friday November 10th, 2006 - 31 weeks 6 days Well we are almost at 32 weeks now. Actually the last several ultrasound measurements have the baby a little further along then we are tracking. The baby is for sure a bit bigger then Jacob was born at. The last ultrasound had the baby at 4 pounds 6 ounces, which can be off, but is 6 ounces more then Jacob's birth weight. We two doctor's appointments this week and everything is ok, as far as heart rate and everything the doctor can tell. Based on the ultrasound from yesterday, the baby is head down and ready. Who knows how much longer it will be, the stitch is holding and Jenny hasn't had to much as far as contractions, but as you know that can change quickly. The 4D ultrasound didn't turn out as well as it could have, since the baby was sitting so low on Jenny, so we are taking that as the end is near. Entry #10 Tuesday October 24th, 2006 - 29 Weeks 4 Days We had a routine visit this morning. The baby went on a monitor and Jenny had an exam. No news or apparent changes. So all is good. We had an ultrasound that calculated the baby's bodyweight at 3 pounds, 3 ounces. Jenny since last week has been bed rest for about 98% of the day and night. Jacob has been going with friends and family, just about every day I work. Jenny, Jacob and Mystery Mann are all doing well. We appreciate everyone's help and prayers. Entry #9 Thursday October 19th, 2006 - 28 Weeks 6 Days Jenny started having contractions, pretty regular contractions on Tuesday night, so we went over to hospital, but she only had one contraction after getting to the hospital. The doctor did an exam and found that Jenny was in fact progressing from a few weeks prior, it was a quite a big change. They did an ultrasound and saw that her cervix length had thinned about 50% from 3 weeks earlier, so to be safe the doctor had us to stay over at the hospital. They did another ultrasound in the Wednesday morning and her cervix was about the same as it was the night before. We were sent home, Jenny was told she needed to only be out of bed, when she absolutely needed to be out of bed, otherwise she was to not get up. We NEED to make it another 3 weeks to get to where we did with Jacob. Jacob ended up being healthy, but we were very lucky and blessed with Jacob made it. Not all 32 weeks baby's are healthy, lung and eye issues can be problem for a baby born at this time, so are hoping to make it even further. Please keep Jenny and the baby in your prayers. Entry #8 Monday October 16th, 2006 - 28 Weeks 3 Days The BIG 28!!! This is a very big point. Moves the chances of survival up to 95%, so we are in good shape. Our next goal is 32 weeks. Entry #7 Tuesday September 26th, 2006 - 25 Weeks 4 days Well we are in week 25. We had another ultrasound yesterday and everything appears to be good. The baby is good, there doesn't appear to be any signs that the baby is coming soon. Jenny is feeling good and the baby is estimated to weight 1LB 14OZ, which is almost a full pound more then our last ultrasound estimate, 4 weeks ago. Picture 1 and Picture 2 Jacob went to being a big brother training last night and graduated, here is his picture. Entry #6 Tuesday September 19th, 2006 - 24 Weeks 4 Days On Sunday September 17th, Jenny was feeling pressure for a couple days, so to be safe we went to the hospital. Everything checked out and all appears to be good. We have reached our first goal of getting to 24 weeks, now our next goal is to get to 28 weeks, which from a medical perspective makes the surgery a success. To get back to when Jacob was born, would be 8 more weeks! Since EVERYTHING is different this pregnancy. Jenny is a good spirits and hanging in there. With the baby getting bigger by the day, her need to stay in bed and rest has become very, very important. And unfortunately Jacob is in the middle of the 2s and he is very very active. Entry #5 Thursday August 17th, 2006 - 19 Weeks 6 Days On Friday August 11th we had a bit of a scare and spent about 3-4 hours in the emergency room. Not allot was found out about the pain Jenny was having, but with the ultrasound that was done, there didn't appear to be any issues with the baby. We believe it was caused by to much activity. So Jenny spent the next 48 hours pretty much in bed 100% of the time, laying down. Even sitting up in bed was causing the pain to become worse. Today she went to her doctor, no ultrasound, but everything appears to be better. From what Jenny is reading some forums on her condition, it appears others experience similar issues. I have added the weeks and days to this entry. This is something that becomes very, very important. With Jacob we were first in the hospital at 23 weeks, so at this point we weren't even concerned last time. Well 28 weeks of gestation is the first goal we have, this is the week the chances of survival become pretty solid, like 70%+. Still not great, that would be 3 months early, which is scary. Jacob made it until 32 weeks, 2 months early, this is still very early and would require the baby to stay at the hospital for a couple weeks or more. Our ultimate goal would be 35-36 weeks, the baby would almost for sure be fully developed and be ready to go home pretty much right away. This is a long way off and a lot can happen, so we will focus on getting ourselves another 9 weeks. Entry #4 Wednesday August 2nd, 2006 On Monday, we went for our follow-up appointment. This
appointment was held in |
