Results from Day 1 and Day 2 of this 3 day competition are in the books and linked above. Let me first remind you, that these lifters lift in single ply poly gear and are subject to drug testing in and out of competition.

Some short highlights from the first two day of USAPL Nationals include Wade Hooper winning yet another title at 165 LB Weight class with an 1869 total. He also completed a WR 507 LB bench on his second attempt.

The 181s were a who's who and wow who is that. Steven McLawchin won the 181 class defeating legends Dave Ricks and Dan Austin, with a 870 KG (1918 LB)total. Watchout Steven is 21 years old!!

The 220s was a battle royal of the top drug tested 220s in the country. This went down to the last pull. The battle was highly contested by Jason Beck, Mike Mastrean, Tony Succarotte and Charr Gahagan. Tony Succarotte, who earlier broke the IPF World Record in the bench, hoisting 634 LBs, had the lead after his last pull that gave him a 2039 total. Then Jason Beck from Norfolk, VA, pulled 744 LB Deadlift to overtake Tony's lead. Then the last attempt of the day had 800 pound puller, Charr Gahagan, attempt a 793 LB pull for the win, but it just wasn't in the card today. It was a huge battle, Jason made all 9 of his attempts and that really is what the difference in the end. Jason Beck, totaled an American Record 2061 total.
